Helpful Information for Your Summer Vacation in See
Important Information for Your Family Vacation in Tyrol
Travel to See
Travel to See is easy: conveniently reach us via interstates, expressways or federal highways from all directions in your own car. Please remember that Austria does require you to purchase a toll vignette for travel on all Austrian interstates. If you are flying in from abroad, your international destination airport is Innsbruck.
Medical Services and Banking
Medical emergency services provided by physicians are available in See 24/7. The nearest hospital is located in Zams, i.e. about 20 minutes from See by car. The town of See also has a bank and numerous stores.
Making Reservations for Accommodations in See
You can book your accommodations in See right now or send us an inquiry specifying your desired vacation dates. You will promptly receive a personally compiled quote for your family vacation in Tyrol.
Families
We are always pleased to welcome families to See! As a member of the association of Tiroler Familiennester (Tyrolean Nests for Families), the entire community is committed to one objective: to being an attractive and convenient vacation resort for families. Numerous activities emphasise this attitude, such as our weekly programmes for children and adolescents, complimentary and low cost childcare services, guided family hikes, etc. Please also take advantage of the diversity of other programmes at your disposal throughout the Paznaun vacation region.
Childcare
From Monday through Friday, your children will have the time of the lives and will receive the best care available from 10.00 AM to 04.30 PM. Childcare professionals who all have received educational training offer an interesting programme for children aged 4 to 10. Teenagers can look forward to action and adventure at the Youth Club Paznaun – no parents allowed! Actually, the parents are off enjoying some long sought after time just the two of them.
Clothing, Gear and Equipment
We recommend lightweight, casual clothing for the summer months. Given that you are in the mountains, temperatures in the evenings and at night can drop significantly. Consequently, it is best to bring some highly functional warm clothing as well. If you are planning to take hikes into the mountains, make sure you cover your head. Have sun glasses and sunscreen lotion with a high SPF handy. Ankle-high trekking or hiking shoes are indispensible – also for children. You should also bring a small backpack for beverages.
Best Time to Travel
See is a great destination in Tyrol for summer and winter vacations with your family. The summer season extends from June to early October. The temperatures in the summer are quite moderate, while you have to expect some isolated hot or rainy days in the mountains.
Swimming
Outdoor and indoor pools are available in the neighbouring villages of Kappl, i.e. in Galtür and Ischgl. You can get there in just a few minutes by car or public bus.
Sports Facilities
See and the mountains provide a natural sports paradise for friends of disciplines such as mountain hiking and biking. In fact, See is a favourite with mountain bikers: the Silvretta Bike Arena is now world famous. Rental bikes are available for the duration of your stay. However, please keep in mind that most of the bike routes are not suitable for families with small children. Other sports options in and around See: climbing, high rope gardens, rafting, Nordic walking, tennis, fishing and boating.
Hiking
The vicinity of Kappl is great for hikes with children. Easy hiking trails and numerous alpine meadow inns that offer food and other services, make sure that hikers never go hungry and turn family hikes into a great fun adventure for adults and children alike. Guided hikes for families will give you first insights into your vacation hiking paradise Paznaun. Especially ambitious hikers can work towards the attainment of the Wanderbutz, a hiking badge issued by the Paznaun region with a special point rewards system for children.
